Client: Regional Queensland Hospital · Category: ICU Fit-Out · Status: Delivered & Commissioned
A regional Queensland hospital engaged Medtechnica Services to upgrade the equipment in its intensive care unit. The project covered sourcing, delivery, installation, acceptance testing and clinical handover of ventilators and patient monitoring systems across multiple ICU bed stations.
All supplied devices were TGA-registered and commissioned in accordance with AS/NZS 3551 medical electrical safety requirements. The engagement included calibration certificates, operator training and integration of the facility's equipment register.
ICU Bed Stations
Weeks to Handover
Compliance Pass Rate
The hospital's existing ICU equipment had reached end-of-support with the original manufacturer, creating gaps in spare parts availability and compliance documentation. The facility required a coordinated upgrade across all bed stations with minimal disruption to ICU operations, while ensuring every newly installed device met current TGA registration and AS/NZS 3551 electrical safety standards.
Medtechnica supplied TGA-registered ventilators and patient monitors sourced through authorised manufacturer channels. A phased installation schedule was developed with the hospital's biomedical engineering team, completing two to three bed stations per session outside peak admission periods. Each device underwent electrical safety and performance testing to AS/NZS 3551 before being released for clinical use, with calibration certificates uploaded to the facility's asset register.
